R&D has technical and scientific experiences developed in different fields of natural risks analysis with a focus on urban-planning and decision-making. Eric Leroi, president of R&D is involved as core member in both the International Joint Technical Committee on Landslides and Engineered Slopes (JTC1), and International Technical Committee on Engineering practice of risk assessment and management (ITC32). he works as a consultant in the field of risk management, urban-planning and land-planning for local authorities, as well as for the French Ministry of Environment and State Services, and has been developing methodologies and guidelines for the State on “How to develop slope area” (2005), as well as on “Risk based Urban-Planning (on-going project).He was involved in European research projects as coordinator or Partner. He has been developing several approaches of hazard assessment under GIS and was involved for the French Ministry of Environment (responsible for natural risks prevention) for the elaboration of the PPR guide (PPR are the statutory Risk Prevention Plan).
